Arriva are looking to recruit a confident outgoing apprentice to support its IT team who will be involved in providing support to end users and maintaining the various IT systems behind the scenes. You will have an opportunity to gain skills in areas such as Service Desk, Microsoft platforms, networking, PC repair & builds.

Desired skills

Minimum requirement is an active interest in IT as demonstrated by either qualifications and/or experience even if this is building own PC, offering IT support to friends and family. Previous experience working in IT is welcome but not a requirement.

Understanding of the steps for diagnosing a problem
Have installed/uninstalled software
Carried out minor hardware changes such as fitting memory, or replacing hard drive

As Arriva continues to grow, new roles are created and with the movement of staff vacancies are made available. Good candidates would find themselves in a strong position to apply for relevant roles.

Things to consider

There may be travel required to attend other Arriva locations as part of development and with the possibility of attending further training that will be identified during the course of the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will have access to additional learning through the Microsoft Online Learning Hub.

The apprentice will be based at our Head Office in Doxford with the potential to travel to other sites within Arriva as part of the learning.
