What’s it all about?

This course is for 16-18 year olds who wish to make a career for themselves in the beauty therapy industry.

You will need at least two GCSEs at grade 4 including English Language and preferably maths. You will also be required to take a skills assessment at the start of the course.

Health and safety
Client care and communication
Working in beauty related industries
Facial skin care
Manicure application
Pedicure application
Make-up application
Eye treatment
Create and image
Reception duties You will learn through a variety of teaching methods including practical work in our purpose built fully working salon and theory and written assessments.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

What’s next?

There are many career opportunities for beauty therapists, including working in a salon, self-employment, or working overseas in hotels or on board cruise ships.

You may also wish to progress onto a NVQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy or VRQ Level 3 programme.
