What’s it all about?

This course is for those who have a general interest in photography and wish to develop their skills and knowledge of the subject. The course is also ideal for those considering a possible career path in photography or progression to Higher Education.

You’ll need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above, one of which needs to be in an art and design subject. You can also join the course with a BTEC level 2 Diploma in Art and Design.

You will be taught through a combination of practical lessons in the photography studio, digital imaging suite and darkrooms and theory lessons concerning how to create independent research of a variety of photographic artists and build your knowledge of

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

What’s next?

After successfully completing the course you could go on to study a Foundation Degree Photography course at the college or a Degree in Photography elsewhere. You could also find employment in the photography industry or related fields.
