Jennifer described her time at Sunderland College as challenging but rewarding and fun! When studying Business Leadership and Corporate Management at university she really enjoyed the HR modules, after completing her degree and gaining a career in HR she felt she would benefit from undertaking a professional qualification.
She said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sunderland College, the course really helped open the door to some amazing opportunities for me.
Our tutor Anita was by far the best tutor I’ve had across both college and university. She was able to explain new concepts and ideas in practical and interesting ways that helped me to write assignments, pass the course and most importantly improve my HR knowledge.
I think for anyone who is hesitant of taking on a qualification whilst working full time, just do it! I wouldn’t be where I am today without attending the college. I’ve learnt so much, furthered my career and met some amazing people along the way!”
Jennifer was offered a role as HR advisor for Europe AkzoNovel (Dulux) whilst studying toward her CIPD qualification. Within 18 months of being in that role, she was promoted and is now HR Manager supporting the supply chain function across the north of the UK.
