Jessica was a student crew volunteer at the College, which she said helped her make friends. She described her time at Sunderland College as sociable, motivating and fun. She is now working as a Production Assistant at the prestigious Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), Lucasfilm’s VFX and animation studio.
She said:
“I decided to study at Sunderland College as it is the only college in the North East approved to deliver the NextGen course. The College provides industry standard equipment and teaches you the pipeline of your chosen industry.
The best thing about the NextGen course was being taught everything but specialising in one area, meaning that you get a broad understanding of each pipeline but gain an in-depth understanding of your chosen specialism.
I loved the atmosphere around the campus it’s so nice and relaxed, and everyone was super friendly! There was always events to get involved in and it just felt like our own community.
Maths and English are everywhere! They are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and to progress to your dream career. A GCSE Maths and English qualification could be the difference between being accepted onto a university course or getting a job promotion.
