Fertile Ground returns with Myths & Dreams, an imaginative evening created by four choreographers, performed by a cast of top North East emerging professional dancers.

Opening the bill is Labyrinth by Renaud Wiser. This interdisciplinary work inspired by the myth of the Minotaur sees the dancers immersed in and responding to a virtual environment created by sculptor Marie Lelouche.

Next in the progamme is Plubel  by rising European choreographers Fabritia D’Intino and Clementine Vanlerberghe. The piece is a hypnotic journey of imitation that questions how the female figure is represented in dance.

Finally, a stage adaptation of Malgorzata Dzierzon’s film Somnium that looks to express our dreams, memories, anxieties and desires at the time of the pandemic. Somnium is a collaboration with filmmaker Filipe Alcada and composer Oliver Coates, commissioned by Dance City.

Labyrinth Virtual Reality Experience
There will also be a chance to immerse yourself in the virtual reality maze during the interval. Created by Marie Lelouche and navigate the virtual landscape of Labyrinth’s hauntingly beautiful digital sculptures. Places are limited and free to ticket holders. To book your place email ad@fertileground.org.uk by 5pm on Wednesday 20 October.
