I have a Level 3 and 4 in Barbering, Cert Ed and TAQA qualified.

I am a senior state registered barber and have worked in the industry since I was 14 years old. I still work commercially in a high class barber shop in Jesmond, with a variety of clients from craftsmen to doctors, professional sports people to judges.

I deliver our barbering courses across all levels.

I was the first learner to enrol at Sunderland College in 1991 and was given the opportunity to try teaching by Judith Nicholson who was my lecturer. I felt I wanted to invest in the future of barbering.

Seeing my learners develop and become professional barbers, standing out in their sector.

When students Charlotte Stewart finished fourth in a national barbering competition (2016) and Hazel Littlemore won the North East heat of the 2018 AHT competition and then came second nationally.
